It feels so good to be alive in this weather. The sun is bright and warm and the wind carries the scent of budding flowers and grass clippings. Even in Philadelphia, there is an aura of life about the streets and on campus. People are smiling and wearing brightly-coloured pastel clothing. Frisbees are being thrown around and shirts of sunbathers are coming off left and right. And I, with my renewed outlook on life, sit back and simply take it all in as I scurry from place to place in the routine of my many lovely pursuits. There is nothing like Rugby in the spring.
So now I’m back. After a long and trying winter, spring has kicked into gear and is wasting no time showering the earth with warmth and all that is beautiful. So where was I? Well for 9 weeks and 6 days, I was pledging La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. which ate up nearly all my time, day and night. We crossed last Friday, 12 April 02 so I have been taking it easy since then.
I woke up early today to finish my lab report and other homework. I was so tired last night, I was not about to stay up all night just to do this stupid stuff. Really, labs are the worst thing ever in the educational system. In all my years of middle and high schools, and now into college, I have never admitted to myself “wow, I learned a lot from today’s lab exercise” in fact, usually the opposite. I find myself getting stupider whenever I am surrounded by glass and rubber mixed up in some array that I have never seen.
