10 Things I hate about Summer

10 things I hate about this summer

10. Switching the internet connection between Jay and myself
9. Searching for the right sized nails
8. T-shirt tan only on my left arm, from driving
7. Sungalsses tan only on my left side, from driving
6. George W. Bush given on-the-fly speeches (Lincoln must be rolling over in his grave)
5. Segways
4. Asian professors (more of an annoyance than a hate, you know what I mean)
3. Stubbing my toe on everything
2. Paint and paint accessories
1. Summer classes

I haven’t made an entry in two months because nothing has happened to me. I haven’t taken one photo since I still don’t have a working camera. I took only one road trip and it was against my will! I sit through classes when I should be sleeping, then come home and sleep when I should be doing….something else. There’s always something wrong with my sketches, always one body part that comes out all screwed up – its only a 30 second sketch, I don’t feel like correcting it. After 3 weeks, I finally consider myself ‘moved in’ to my new apartment. It took us that long to clean up Fab’s mess, paint the halls and living room and for me to destroy all the decaying parts of my room and rebuild them with numerous cans of spackle. Ugh! Stress!!

The only good thing about this summer is the fact that Diving Tank is doing really well. We get new projects all the time, even if they are only heads up or future projects. Still, we have gotten paid more in the last two months than ever before – things are looking up. Hopefully come September I can finish all the projects on my plate and go in search of new ones. I’ve been listening to the Beatles a lot and brainstorming/sketching about the my comic book. Who knows when I will get a chance to actually write stuff down.

Jay got a job so maybe we can actually do stuff on weekends like to go jazz clubs or the movies or anything. The social scene her is so bad in the summer, no one even tries to hang around campus or surrounding venues – its just dead. Things will be better in September – rugby matches, swing dancing at UPenn, outdoors Shakespeare, Latino Heritage Month, dance ensemble and the spiritual cleansing that is Autumn.
