Victory in Europe

V-E Celebrations, 60 years later.

And in Westminster, there were almost as many Yankee tourists as on that fateful day back in ’45, when Europe rejoiced at the end of the war. If ever there was a day to admire the stone buildings in Whitehall and the iron statues of dead men, today was it.

So to celebrate…swing dancing! For all its obscurity and likeness to a secret society, I know that on at least one day a year, I will have the respect and admiration of a nation for being able to dance in the manner of our grandparents. And we, the swing dancers of the world, can rear our otherwise-geeky heads and be proud to dress up with ridiculous outfits and hair and make-up for the ladies and just do our thing.

The kids and the old-timers in one venue, dancing like there was no tomorrow.

And, some random architecture and tube ads poorly displayed in another shameless advertising grab-all. Classic London.
