I’m Addicted

I profess, I’m addicted to Big Brother. I didn’t mean for this to happen, but after 4 weeks of being indifferent, I am officially hooked. If you have seen the characters in this house, you would be too. I’m sorry.

In other news, I lost my $105 glasses, which had served me well since the dreaded summer of 2001 – including obscuring my eyes during numerous naps in Moshe Kam’s Systems class. I had to buy some new ones, from Next, for £15. I’m still not happy about that, but the new ones are polarised, so at least I won’t go blind. Plastic is never the preferable building material, but for now, they’ll have to do. Maybe one day when I’m rolling in it, I’ll buy some well made ones.

My tablet is on the fritz. Summer is mad. Its the lifelong tendency to be lazy as hell, combined with the urgency of finishing a postgraduate degree and trying to find a job. I can conclude that it’s going to be hectic, if nothing else.

Hot Days in Farnham

Left to their own accort, in late Spring, Master’s Degree Students have been known to adopt silly behaviour, often ending in water fights.

The second hot day of the year, and the first time I spent a good number of hours in the sun. And yes, I admit that I got a bit burned on my upper shoulders. Trying to emulate my days of being “black from the back”, I suppose.

Jay, remember when Dane West thought I was Afro-American? Good times.

Spring has been shit here in the South of England, but Summer officially arrives on Tuesday, so we’ll see what it brings – maybe another heat wave.

I wish, wish, wish, I had taken a picture of Zero running around campus later that night with a laptop computer playing a DVD of some lesbian porn. Believe me, it was just as absurd as it sounds.

Fashion Research

The In-Store Show – 1 Earl’s Court, London.

Freaky Mannequins and some retail signage.

You can tell its London when the tube shuts down for no reason and you are stuck on board with only the sweatiest people in the whole of Europe.

In an effort to fight the never-ending battle with Spam, I have decided to remove commenting entirely from this site. While Blacklist has proved immensely useful at filtering out spam messages, I have gotten sick of seeing the receipts in my inbox and logging into my site to remove them.

For you, friends, family et al. You can still just email me if you want to let me know something. But I suspect that I will be seeing most of your comments on Charlie’s Forum since most of the readers of this site are from a small pool of 7 or so people.

I haven’t posted in a month mainly because of two reasons. One, my computer was broken for a while. My hard drive died and had to be replaced, so I was without a comp for ten days. Now, true, I can post from the web, but it just doesn’t feel the same. Second, it was the end of the semester I was really trying to concentrate of getting my stuff done, and therefore not going out, taking photos, or even having any profound thoughts.

I am planning to redesign the look of this site in the next few weeks. So expect version 4.5 very soon. Also, I will be adding my design portfolio here making it the one-stop site for all things SPF.

This Summer, I am going to make the conscious effort to get out more. I have been indoors too much for reasons such as lack of money, busy with projects, too tired, etc. But its time to put all that aside and enjoy the English Summer.

It’s the 21st Century and I’m a young man in Britain! The future is now!
