Hope You Saved Room…

…for small children.

The other part of Thanksgiving, spending time with family. Now, usually, this means fights and arguments and a little too much wine to drown out all signs of logic. But this year, it seems that things were rather painless, and most of the dinner conversation was spent being amused by cousins Nathaniel and Emmanuel.

Oh, and there was food as well.

City of Buildings

Just some photos of Varick St., interesting buildings that are often overlooked. Gotta love the patterns.

Scary Toys

Its terrible to see that these toys glorify “Peacekeeping” missions around the world. A bit scary, in ways, to see how many guns you can buy for $1.99. So, is this the future of America’s toys? Right-Wing, pro-gun, dirt cheap, with scary-ass eyes.

Ugh. Its hard to explain. We played with violent toys when we were young, but they didn’t have Orwellian titles like “World Peacekeepers”. I don’t think anyone tried to politicise Voltron.

Forgotten Architecture

Sometimes, you just notice things in this, the city of glass and stone and steel. Flickering neon and mangled metal, pipes on the Path train, and Hoboken station – into which most people never even enter.

Halloween 2005. part IV

And, this one’s for the adults. To NYC, where Chelsea saw its fair share of freaks and randomites, all decked out for Halloween. We missed the parade down 6th, which is really more of a Village thing, but caught the traffic, which is always nice.

And then, by a random twist of chance, or perhaps Mischa’s planning, we ended up watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight.

After the Meatloaf Cover Band (!), and all the prize giveaways and shit, the show began. Now, if you’ve never seen Rocky with the full audience interaction, you won’t know exactly what I mean by insane. I won’t even try to explain, I’ll just ask you do your research, or maybe go down to 23rd St. and see it for yourself. Of course, you won’t have all the crazies in costume, which is half the, um, fun.

And of course, the night ended with pizza at an absurdly late hour. Gotta love NYC.

Oh yea, and something about Drag Queens – I suppose its always Halloween for them.
