A Hard Day’s Flight

From Newark to Boston and onto Heathrow, its been a helluva night. But successful. I arrived in London after a smooth-sailing flight, met up with Bonetti, later Jason and Aurelia, and managed to get a bite to eat without being totally ripped off. (not totally)

Still, an exhausting way to return to the UK. I hate travel.

New York from waist level

More random shooting-from-the-hip photos of my favourite city, New York.

Something to notice, 5th Ave. is overrun with tourists! Or maybe it just seems that way because I rarely find myself in the company of such poshness. But alas, I had to make a trip to the Apple store because of my numerous broken iPods.

But the good news is that I traded in my broken 4G for a shiny new 5G with video. Got a nice discount for the trade-in and got a bit knocked off for having a student discount. Go Drexel!

America. Ok. We get the friggin point!

I suppose this is the money shot for a Japanese tourist

On the Wings of Love

A BBQ to commemorate the birthdays of Jay, Bryan and Marco. Nothing says “I’m another year older” like wings and laughter with old friends.

And Drew – recalled to life. Always fun when the supporting cast appears front and centre.

The long train to Brooklyn

Being the ever Jersey-boy, I rarely find myself East of the East River (or as I call it, The Far East), but tonight I found myself in Brooklyn upon the last minute announcement that Amos Lee would be playing a set at Freddy’s Backroom.

All in all, an interesting night. A shabby venue opened by a cowboy whining on his gee-tar. And Amos, of course was late, so I didn’t get home until around 1:30. Still, got to hear some of the songs from the new album, which will probably be out around September.

To quote Chandler from Friends, “Brooklyn is FAR!”

This shit again?

An eventful day at Drexel, me being an alumnus. First, to the rugby. It rained, but that didn’t stop us. In the mud, it felt just like old times, playing against the undergrads with most of my teammates from yesteryear. Of course the alumni won, and I scored a try, no less.

BBQ followed, and the usually hullabaloo with red cups and dodgy chicken and mud caked-on the faces of young men. Eventually, singing breaks out and someone does something nasty, like drinking beer from a dirty, rubbery boot. Imagine that….

And by night, a dance show. The Drexel Dance Ensemble with their spring show, “Progression”. Good to see the old faces, and of course, new ones.

After that, we found ourselves at New Deck, some random ass bar that apparently makes good food. A few pics, but otherwise inconsequential.

And by now, I’m tired. Drive home while I’m still awake. At least, I think I’m still awake…
