Halloween 2006.2

Halloween in New York – by far the best holiday in the city that never sleeps, especially when its high on chocolate and dressed in a costume.

I found myself at Merc Bar on Mercer St. in SoHo. Drawn by Max Darwin and his roommate Tristan, who planned the party, and Keith and the Girl, who alerted me to it. Good times were had by all. But of course in typical New York fashion, the party didn’t get started properly until about midnight. And of course I had to head back to Jersey shortly thereafter.

Halloween 2006.1

Anyone who knows me (or reads this site) knows that I love Halloween. And in most ways, its the only holiday I actually practice, since the rest are really drinking holidays. And so it begins.

I have to ask myself though, why do I always wind up in New Brunswick! Obviously, the answer has something to do with Jay and now Charlie, but seriously people, why.

A few from the L train, and then at Rutgers. Good times, although far too crowded.

Updates, coming soon

Ok, so here’s what I’m planning to do to this site in the next few weeks.

    1. Transfer my domain name and hosting plan to a better server (GoDaddy.com)
    2. Build a WordPress blog on the new server using a bare-bones theme
    3. Import my existing entries and touch-up and glithces
    4. Create a new theme for WordPress and enjoy the new and improved Divingtank.com (v4)

I think this will be a good thing in the long run because WordPress is so much better in terms of bloggin software and my current host is really frustrating, especially with Webmail. Also, with WordPress, we will see the return of Comments thanks for the brilliant Akismet and their ability to detect spam comments with their plugin.

In the meantime, you may see some really nasty temporary pages, or perhaps none at all. But worry not, I’m on the case and I’ll be back as soon as I can – depending on how the workweek, and the apartment search go.

And of course with any upgrade and reamp, there is the slim chance that I will lose everything and my life will severly suck while I try to recreate everything.

‘Appy Birfday, Mum

Mum’s birthday. Went to Mt. Fuji Steakhouse in West Orange – which is a really cool place, not only for its authentic Japanese staff and decor, but because its one of those open-air Hibachi grill type establishments, where they cook the food right there in front of ya. Photos and videos:

From Tha Hip

I hate to start every post with “its been a while”, but it has been a while. At least, its been a while since I actually went out in the world and took pictures of stuff. This, in spite of the fact that I carry a camera wherever I go. But that’s not the point.

Went to see Joaquin and the Subliminal Orphans perform “From Tha Hip” down in Philly. It was a pretty cool, a show about the history of Hip-Hop dance told as a story of a young boy lost in Philadelphia. Pretty cool with the breakdancing and live band, etc.
