Get Me Out of This Job!

Well, not me.

Some dude had the clever idea to appeal to the users of digg to help him quit his job. He pleaded that if his blog post reaches the home page, he would tell his boss what he thinks of her and get the fuck outta there.

Last time I checked, his post had over 3300 diggs! Read the post here.

A Face Only a Mother Could Love

Ok, this has nothing to do with anything, but I thought it worth note that a mother tiger is quite happily raising a litter of piglets (dressed as tigers). Read the story.

Kendra’s 25th

Out for a night to celebrate Kendra’s 25th. I suppose it was quite fitting that Matt Kushner would turn up, considering I haven’t seen him in a good few years. Other old faces returned (but not pictured): Dan Zauber, Gilbert Dusek, and Mike Herz! Funny thing was, he was one of our “most random” people we half-expected to see Wednesday night at Cryan’s. But alas, had to wait until Saturday.

Matt and Mike both have girlfriends now. Lauren and Heather, respectively. And finally met Kendra’s boyfriend, Pat.

Defilly should have broken out the camera much earlier, but alas, forgetful at times.

A Night at Cryan’s

No matter how much I try to stay away, I always seem to find myself back on this particular night. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, our local festering watering hole, Cryan’s, is transformed into an impromptu high school reunion.

Of course I like seeing the fellas again, and I see them pretty regularly. And there are a few folks I always enjoy seeing like Kitty Wilder or Damian Power (pictured below). And there are always a few surprises like Bryan Mills (!) who appeared out of absolutely thin air.

But generally, its an exhausting night of bumping and pushing my way through screaming crowds. Unnecessarily loud music and the plastic cups make it seems more and more like a frat party. The basement venue doesn’t help any. Whatever, it wasn’t so bad this time around. Gotta love that NJ smoking ban.

Something I say every year, but I’ll say it again – I’m not going back next year. Ugh, who am I kidding.

Dinner and a Show

It seems I am really getting my money’s worth from being a resident of the great New York City. Tonight, Keith Malley had another comedy screening at Dekk in TriBeCa. So Charlie, Jessica, and I went down, watched the show, and had some dinner. Good time.

Does anyone else find it bizarre that my social calendar is dominated by KaTG events?

Friday Night Swings

Out for some dancing, for the first time in a long time, at Swing 46. Great band tonight, Lady Luck and the Suicide Kings. Afterwards, a little adventure, heading over to Club 412 with new-acquantances Evan from the UES and Rebecca from Chicago. Not bad for a Friday.

In Boston

Autumn in New England. It has a certain smell, and the air is crisp. Dry. Shadows are long, even in midday and laughter can be heard from many a basement of a ratty bar in Cambridge.

Travelling this weekend, first to CT to visit the grandparents, then into Boston to see Keith and the Girl and to hang with Nick Baker who I haven’t seen in some months. We toured the great Universities of the Boston area – at least Harvard and MIT, and continued our walking tour downtown. The common, etc.

The show was great fun and we laughed heartily. Afterwards, a band called Merit performed. Good stuff. Although we had to leave in order to preserve the remainder of our scheduled events the following morning.

Trouble.

I am having some trouble importing my entries from my previous blog. This is a bit scary because I have several years of posts which, in a worst case scenario, I will have to re-post manually. I have the data, so it won’t be that bad. But it will still suck.

Patience, dear friends.

New now know how.

Ok, so not what you were expecting. Heck, not what I was expecting. I am in the process of migrating this site over to a WordPress blog and maybe even re-designing it at some point. As you can see, the content of the site is not exactly here right now, so check back later. I uploaded all the same photos, so if you really need, you can link to the photos – or whatever.

Be back soon, promise.

PhotoPlus Expo (equals cool)

At the PhotoPlus Expo to see what’s what in the world of [digital] photography. On hand were a few Photoshop celebs such as Matt Kloskowski, of PhotoshopTV fame, and of course Colin Smith from the PhotoshopCafe.

Mostly just me shooting from the hip. Strangely, there weren’t too many people taking photos, they all seemed to be too busy sampling the stuff to actually enjoy the event. If that makes sense.
