Housewarming

A quick surgical strike to Philadelphia. In and out in just a few hours – to watch the Drexel Dance show, of course. Shame I didn’t stay to hang out for a bit, considering it was Brittany’s birthday and all. Strange that I didn’t take and photos – very unlike me.

And then back to Maplewood, to hang out at Eddie’s house. Congrats to Eddie for buying a condo over on Meadowbrook, right down the street from Mischa. Another night with the fellas, but now with the phrase “don’t fuck up my house” introduced into the mix.

A Cold Night in January

On a cold, cold night in Brooklyn, I met with Bonetti for dinner and then we headed over to Brooklyn Sugar, a club of sorts, built in the proximity of the old Domino Sugar Factory. Those few blocks were long, and cold, but we finally arrived at the exhibition/party of 1980s underground hip-hop-turned-art.

Laura is the expert on the subject (somehow), so she knows more about it than I do. But apparently, this guy was a big graffiti artist in the 80s, and now he’s all grown up and flying the straight and level. So by New York rules, he’s now a famous artist. Check out the shots.

Jessica came around, and we recorded an episode of twentyhood.

A Hot Day in January

Scott, you are not serious blogging about the weather!

Yea, I am.

Today was 22°C. And it’s January. [insert global warming commentary here].

So I did what everyone else in New York did – headed to Union Square to enjoy the festival that is the average summer Saturday. Paintings, t-shirts, photos, and a whole lot of people. Some of them dressed in nothing but a tank top and shorts. Seriously people.

That first pic is from last night when Mike and Jessica came around to chill in Williamsburg. We’re so cool.
