With Sally Hogshead
In New York for long-overdue meeting with my long-time design hero, and current client, Sally Hogshead. The setting is Le Parker Meridien hotel in midtown, which is jammed with quirky architectural bits and bobs. Pictured here, random cathedral arches.

Memorial Day at Jay’s
To Jay and Steph’s place in Highland Park for a Memorial Day BBQ. We at, we goofed around, we got some sun, we observed the behaviour of babies, which are now appearing everywhere. Oy, we’re old.

In DUMBO
In DUMBO tonight, for the fifth anniversary of SwissMiss, the wonderful design blog-turned-community. As is evidenced by the photos, it was indeed a fun party. And rather silly.

Scott and Melanie at The Ballet
A welcomed birthday gift, Melanie accompanied me on this Friday evening to see the New York City Ballet. Strangely, she had never seen a proper dance performance, so it was a bit of an education for her. I enjoyed seeing a live performance, which I hadn’t in many months, if not years. On tap was lots of Jerome Robbins choreography, including some 30s revival ballroom-cum-swing dancing, recreated from the film “I’m Old Fashioned.” Awesome.
We had excellent seats on what was altogether a pleasant evening.

No Longer Empty: Never Can Say Goodbye
After an exhausting week, I stepped out with Craig and Lisa to the grand re-opening of Tower Records for the Never Can Say Goodbye event, hosted by No Longer Empty, an arts advocacy group that revamps abandoned and closed spaces, often with an artsy twist.
Got to see old Drexel pals Naomi (who helped organise the event) and Sarah, with whom I used to dance.
While packed, the evening did show off some interesting music-themed artwork. Good stuff.
